Reese Witherspoon took her career seriously when she first enrolled as a student at Stanford University. Her early critical successes included performances in films like Pleasantville and Election but it was her portrayal of Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a turning point for her career. Witherspoon was awarded the Academy Award in 2005 for her role as Elle Woods in Walk the Line. Recent films also include Water for Elephants This Means War and Wild with which she won yet another Oscar nomination. Witherspoon is also a hit on the television screen, having was a co-star and producer of David E. Kelley's Award-winning TV series Big Little Lies. Witherspoon was is born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon in New Orleans Louisiana on March 22nd, 1976. Witherspoon is the daughter of a doctor and nurse, grew up as a debutante in Nashville Tennessee. In 2003's film The Invisible Man she had her first role of feature length. After that, she appeared on a variety of TV shows like House of Lies Whitney or Better Call Saul. Film credits include The Dictator, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and The Dictator. As well as her profession as an actress, Sheila is also an accomplished artist.
